England

Look alive – mind the gap!  Look smart on the ancient campuses of Oxford and Cambridge. Look posh in fabulous London. Look your best in performance at York Minster or St. Paul’s Cathedral (or any of a plethora of iconic venues).  Look regal at Buckingham Palace, and look! Is that Prince Harry?  There is more to see and do on tour than we can advertise, and it’s all jolly good! While you’re there, why not hop around the Isles to visit England’s neighbors, or even across the Chunnel to la belle France? Just be sure you’re back by teatime in the land that brought you James Bond, the Beatles, the Spice Girls, and Shakespeare.  Enjoy your holiday!

Westminster Abbey:  The coronation church since 1066 and the final resting place for 17 monarchs, Westminster Abbey also holds a wealth musical history. Attend a famously lovely Choral Evensong service and pay your respects at the graves of celebrated composers such as Vaughan Williams and Handel. Hum along a little and join an incredible legacy. Music has filled the halls every day for more than 1,000 years!

Oxford University:  Experience much more than a campus tour (“There’s the cafeteria.”) and travel back in time.  A university old enough to have lost track of its own birthdate, Oxford has been educating the world’s brainiacs since sometime before 1096, including 27 Nobel laureates and 26 British Prime Ministers.  Visit the various colleges, gardens, and museums, and don’t miss the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments to keep music on your mind.
