About Honolulu, Oahu

Honolulu is capital and largest city of Hawaii, with a population of 365,272. Located on the southeast coast of Oahu, Honolulu's harbor was first entered by Europeans in 1794 and soon gained prominence as a whaling and sandalwood port. Today it is a major tourist center. Beyond its wondrous landscape and beaches, the island of Oahu is also home to the only royal palace in the United States (Iolani Palace), as well as some of the oldest plant forms on Earth (Foster Botanical Garden). The most notable tourist hub on Oahu is, of course, Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial.
