Testimonials

Glenn Chorale

"Gateway is incredible - they really care, they're fun to be with and they respect musicians' needs. After our first performance tour with Gateway to Germany and Austria in 1998, we didn't hesitate in re-selecting Gateway for our England, Scotland, & Wales music tour in 2001. I wouldn't dream of going with anyone else!”

Parents, Alumni, Followers Tours

More and more schools are adding a “followers” group to their tour experience. We recommend planning a completely separate itinerary for these supporters and here’s why:

  1. Free up your time. An adult group is typically going to have more deviations, special requests or needs to iron out in the planning stages. This job can be delegated to your tour operator so you have more time to focus on the musical and educational aspects of your student tour.
  2. They have different needs. Most parent or alumni groups are happier with a slightly slower-paced itinerary than the student itinerary. In certain circumstances, using a different hotel is helpful, too. A separate itinerary allows your followers to include a few adult activities such as a wine tasting or a brewery tour.
  3. Make them a priority! These are the folks who support your program and students, so why not make them feel special? By delegating their trip to another trip coordinator, you can be sure your followers will get the attention they deserve in the planning process and on tour. The alternative leaves this job to you and soon you’ll be spread too thin to be attentive to all the participants’ needs. The result could lead to unhappy parents or alums who are then less enthusiastic about supporting your program.

“We loved our time in Italy. Gateway was superb! From start to finish, your staff was absolutely wonderful to work with. All our travelers had an exceptional experience because of Gateway’s efforts during the entire process. I will highly recommend Gateway in the future, thank you!”

“We like having our “Parent Pride” group stay in a different hotel to help the students stay focused. We have very specific agendas that chaperones plan and carry out; it’s easier for the chaperones to do their job.”

“Working with Gateway on our study tours for alums and parents is a dream. These tours coincide with our student music tours and offer alums and parents enriching programs as well as the opportunity to interact with the student musicians. Our participants appreciate both the educational focus and the chance to significantly connect with the students.”
